One of the major health challenges in Burundi is the unequal distribution of the quality of healthcare provision across the country.
The majority of health facilities and in particular those providing specialized care such as dental and eye care are located in urban zones (more than 80%) vs rural areas where such services are almost non-existent.

Joint Program: Staff of Care Burundi and the Provincial Coaches 4 provinces (Bubanza, Cibitoke, Gitega and Kayanza) made a joint visit to meet the TWG and the directors of schools which belong to the 2 socio-community networks per province. Material kits have been distributed to schools and 6 young volunteers were elected by province. They will be considered as a third hand for raising awareness of young people by young people.
Various training courses are offered at HUB-IPROSARUDE including computer training and entrepreneurship training. A training on nutrition has been prepared as well and was offered to youth of Gitega. For this training, two teams of experts transmitted their knowledge to youth on nutrition.
